GCI Radar Station ~ RAF Ripperston 1944
If you have looked at the Website pages you will know that the former RAF buildings are a part of our home – they came with the house, as we like to say, and we had no idea what they were. When we finally, and unexpectedly, discovered their original purpose, a passionate journey to preserve them began. They are a very significant part of our British heritage and we love sharing this experience with interested visitors.
Previously to Covid we showed many visitors around the buildings. However, during the Covid lockdown we began to use the buildings more and more for our personal projects. We did however, reserve certain areas for our heritage display along with a presentation & re-enactment area in the operations room. The presentation offers a significant insight into the GCI Radar Defense System.
A former ‘TOP SECRET’ WWII GCI Radar Station in St. Brides, Pembrokeshire
Named in honour of the first building, the Set House, over the past twenty years we have undertaken an extensive repair & maintenance program to preserve the extraordinary WWII buildings that are a part of our home. John being interested in History & Jane loving everything about Art, we have focused on both History and Art, not only preserving the atmosphere of the original WWII site but also incorporating a display of Fine Art, including some wonderful Aviation paintings by members of GAvA.
We do not have sponsored advertising on this website but have been given huge support from the following, EXCELLENT businesses.
We fully recommend them all for their commitment to ensure a quality service, their superb customer support and their professionalism.
